WINTERGERST assists with the acquisition of the LOHSE Group by K industries from Austria

A long-term industrial solution has been found for the LOHSE Group, consisting of MARTIN LOHSE GmbH, Maschinenbau Lohse GmbH and Verwaltungs-Lohse GmbH & Co. KG, in the course of an investment process that was structured by WINTERTERGERST.

MARTIN LOHSE GmbH, based in Heidenheim an der Brenz, is a traditional manufacturer of high quality industrial valves made of steel or stainless steel. The company, which was founded in 1908, develops and manufactures shut-off values, regulating valves, and reject valves for challenging applications. Its products are used by a range of industries, including the pulp & paper industry, the chemicals industry, recycling industry and the water management, food and biogas industries. LOHSE exhibits a great depth of production, bespoke solutions and established international expertise in products and technologies.

Against the backdrop of an increasingly challenging market in key customer sectors, the Group commissioned WINTERGERST to conduct an international transaction process in the search for a suitable strategic partner.

A strategic industrial partner was found in the form of K industries, which is an excellent fit to the expertise of LOHSE and opens up new perspectives for the development of the business going forward. The family-led industrial group, based in St. Andrä in Carinthia, Austria, is specialized in plant and machinery manufacture as well as industrial services, offering engineering design, production and assembly from a single source. Moreover, K industries serves customers in the fields of pulp & paper, chemicals, environmental technology, food and energy.

The combination of LOHSE’s established markets, its technological expertise and long-standing customer base with the engineering and sales expertise of K industries creates a foundation for further growth.

„By bundling the technological expertise and strong market position of LOHSE with the industrial resources and network of K industries creates substantial synergies and opens up great development potential. At the same time, we are grateful to WINTERGERST for its professional, solutions-oriented and trustworthy assistance throughout the transaction process.”

Franz Kreuzer
Managing director of K industries GmbH

“I would like to thank K industries and the Kreuzer family for their excellent, trustworthy and solutions-oriented approach. We are convinced that with K industries we have found the ideal strategic partner for LOHSE, as it will sustainably develop the business and location in Heidenheim,” explains Christian Scharfenberger, who led the project together with Simon Ulmer and Florian König.
